Our Leadership
Kurtis Joined the Chicagoland Pool Management team in 2018 as the President and General Manager. Kurtis returned to aquatics after a 10-year career in the restaurant industry where he last served as a restaurant General Manager of a worldwide chain. Prior to his career in the food service industry, Kurtis held roles as Supervisor and manager for a local Park District and the YMCA respectively. Kurtis has been involved in all aspects of aquatics from lifeguard supervision, training, safety auditing, swim lessons as well as renovations and repair. Kurtis is a graduate of North Central College in Business Management with a Minor in Human Resources. He along with his wife are excited to serve the Chicagoland Community.

Leslie began working with Chicagoland Pool Management in 2008. As a past swimmer and lifeguard Leslie has spent her entire life around water. Prior to joining the Chicagoland Pool Management team, she worked on the management team to assist in opening the first Coco Key Water Resort in Arlington Heights, Illinois as well as worked at many Park District and Club facilities throughout the Chicago Suburbs. She attended the Illinois Institute of Art to study Graphic Design with an emphasis in Branding and Marketing but quickly realized her heart would always belong at the pool.
Leslie is currently an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, Certified Pool Operator Instructor with Pool and Hot Tub Alliance and is a pre-qualified contractor with the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Laura began working for Chicagoland Pool Management in 2012. She started her career in aquatics over 50 years ago as a lifeguard herself. Laura’s professional career has included a combination of working as an educator at some of the local school districts and working as an Aquatics Manager for several local park districts. In 2010 Laura was honored to be named the Illinois Park and Recreation Association’s Aquatic Manager of the year. She has been a lifeguard instructor for over 20 years and has trained over 5,000 lifeguards. Laura has a Bachelor of Science in Leisure, Environmental Recreation Administration and Master’s in Education. She is very passionate about water safety and enjoys working with and training staff to help them succeed in their current job role with us and helping them grow into their future.
Jenny joined Chicagoland Pool Management in 2016. Needing a break from the corporate office setting she was excited to manage the pool she grew up working at and get back to being outside and working with people. In 2022 she became one of our Lifeguard Instructors where she was able to share her 20+ years of experience with a whole new generation of lifeguards. Now working with our staffing and safety team Jenny has been able to put her true passion for aquatics and safety into mentoring generations to come.
Dominic joined Chicagoland Pool Management in 2023. Prior to joining the team Dominic worked with the Chicago Park District for 15 years starting as a seasonal lifeguard and moving up the ranks in senior leadership working at numerous beaches and indoor/outdoor pools over his tenure. From teaching swimming lessons of all ages, coaching swim team and teaching aqua fit classes he has spent much of his career in recreation programming. He finds his true passion in training and mentoring lifeguards. Dominic is an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and Certified Pool Operator with the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance.
Kristi is excited to join the Chicagoland Pool Management team with over 20 years of experience in both public and private organizations such as the YMCA, Park Districts and Recreation Management companies. Her background includes managing and supervising all aspects of aquatic facilities, safety compliance training, recreation programing and facilities management. Kristi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Parks & Recreation Administration with a concentration in Recreation Program Management and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Aurora University.
Kristi is a Certified Park and Recreation Professional and YMCA Professional Aquatic Director. Kristi was awarded as the Illinois Park and Recreation Association Aquatic Manager of the year in 2011 and has presented various topics related to aquatics at the Illinois Parks and Recreation Conference.
Our Safety Advisors
As part of The Pool Management Group network, our customers and employees receive the expertise of our internationally renowned Safety Advisors, Dr. Tom Griffiths and the team at Aquatic Safety Research Group. Their expertise is instilled throughout our risk reduction techniques and lifeguard training.
Dr. Griffiths was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame and is a Paragon Safety Award winner for his water safety efforts. He has been awarded the National Recreation and Park Association Distinguished Aquatic Service Award for a lifetime achievement and designated a European Lifeguard Academy Friend of the Academy for significant contributions to preventive Lifeguarding. Dr. Griffiths has also been named to “Who’s Who in Aquatics- The Top 100”, and “Power 25- Top 25 most powerful aquatics professionals in the World”, by Aquatics International Magazine.
Dr. Griffiths has authored more than 300 papers that have been published in scientific, professional and popular journals. He is an external reviewer for the American Red Cross Swimming and Diving publications.
