Chicagoland Pool Management was founded by The Pool Management Group executive leadership team in 2003.
Leadership
David S. Rubenstein
President and General Manager
David has been the President and General Manager of Chicagoland Pool Management since 2004. Before that time, he helped develop what was the largest public swim facility in Louisville, Kentucky from 1981 to 1996. As General Manager and Aquatics Director, David was responsible for the development of aquatic programs for the public-at-large.
He was a competitive swimmer since age 8. His twin brother Ricky and he attended the University of Kentucky on full waterpolo and swimming scholarship. David continues to hold the Kentucky all-time scoring record for a single game — scoring 9 goals in two consecutive games against the University of Illinois and Purdue.
David completed his swimming career at age 39 by participating in the Maccabian Games in Israel where he won 9 gold medals, and was coached by the current President and General Manager of Kentuckiana Pool Management, one of 16 local partners with the The Pool Management Group.
He has over 30 years of experience in pool management and emphasizes safety as the major concern around swimming facilities: “The best part of this type of occupation is seeing all the participants going home safely to their families after a fun and safe day at the pool."
Bret Petermann
Vice President of Operations
Bret studied Exercise Science with a focus on Aquatics at Ball State University. Bret then earned a Masters degree in Recreation Studies at Ohio University. He joined Chicagoland Pool Management in late 2007 and calls himself the Pool Guy. He is a Certified Pool Operator Instructor with the National Swimming Pool Foundation, and is a Lifeguard Instructor with the American Red Cross.
Leslie Clark
Human Resources Director
Leslie began working with Chicagoland Pool Management in 2008. She has 12 years experience working in the aquatics field. Prior to joining the Chicagoland Pool Management team she worked on the management team to assist in opening the first Coco Key Water Resort in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She has been an Ellis and Associates certified Lifeguard for 10 years, is a Certified Pool Operator with National Swimming Pool Foundation and was previously a certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.
